Cyclades Islands

Cyclades Islands

Day 1: Athens - Sounio

Day 1: Athens - Sounio

Cape Sounion is trully an amazing site that should not be missed during your vacation in Athens. This splendid rocky promontory that rises out of the Aegean is one of the best sights in Athens carrying on at its highest point the Temple of Poseidon.

Day 2: Sounio - Kythnos

It’s really strange when thinking about how it is possible for a Cycladic island, which is so close to the overcrowded Greek capital Athens, to remain one of the few unexplored paradises. Looking at it on a map it’s like a bird with stretched wings to the North and to the South as if it’s ready to fly, to get away from the deep blue Aegean waters and fly away to unknown places with all its treasures.

Day 2: Sounio - Kythnos
Day 3: Kythnos - Sifnos

Day 3: Kythnos - Sifnos

Located on the western side of the Cyclades island group, Sifnos is considered as the yummiest of the Greek islands, thanks to its flourishing culinary scene. Other than that, Sifnos has the typical Cycladic ambience, including whitewashed houses and chapels, innumerable dovecotes, a breathtaking natural landscape and, of course, amazing beaches!

Day 4: Sifnos - Milos

The volcanic activity in ancient years has endowed Milos island with an exciting variety of gorgeous landscapes, consequently offering the visitor a wide range of activities. The funny shapes of the rocks and their wonderful colours at the beautiful white sandy beaches are one expression of the volcanic features of Milos; the economic activity is another: minerals such as obsidian are excavated here.

Day 4: Sifnos - Milos
Day 5: Milos - Serifos

Day 5: Milos - Serifos

Serifos Island, with its rugged mining sites, ladened with history, has its own distinct Cycladic flair. The island exudes a calm atmosphere and speaks directly to your senses. Despite its arid and wildland characteristics, Serifos is gracefully embraced by the deep blue colours of the Aegean Sea and has some magnificent beaches.

Day 6: Serifos - Kea

Kea island, which is also known as Tzia, sits in the Aegean sea, south of Attica and belongs to the Cyclades group of Greek islands. Although it is typically a Cycladic island, Kea has a different landscape and different architecture than its Cycladic counterparts. Kea doesn’t have the little whitewashed houses and blue-domed churches of its neighbours, but it is characterized by earthy tones and elegant architecture.

Day 6: Serifos - Kea
Day 7: Kea - Athens

Day 7: Kea - Athens

Having a history of 3,000 years, Athens, the glorious capital of Greece, is a monument itself!  It does take a stroll in the city centre to dive into the history of Athens! Famous all over the world as the birthplace of democracy and the Olympic games, among others, Athens is considered as the historical capital of Europe! Thanks to its long history and rich culture, sightseeing is one of the best things to do in Athens!
